So I finally watched Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog today on Hulu (it's available internationally on Hulu if you haven't watched it cause you're not in the USA). I thought I'd hate it but it was so incredibly incredible. I completely empathize with Neil Patrick Harris. In the beginning part. Where he loves someone who doesn't know it and all of that jazz. Cause, you know, I'm not evil, so I can't really empathize with the evil part.

But still, it was amazing. I ponied up and bought the album off of iTunes, wanting to give the crew and cast some money and support the project. But now I also want to have the whole thing on my iPod. But I want to support Whedon. But don't have the means to buy it (and not off of iTunes - I want good quality (and no DRM)). So do I pirate it or not?

EDIT: I went to Netflix to see if they had it to watch instantly. So I load up the home page, and they have that section where they show recommendations for you. One of the top 10 was Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. COINCIDENCE?

I put that album on my ipod after watching the (movie? show? what?) and was disappointed to realize that the effect is (for me) entirely lost in audio format.

You should definitely pirate it though, all the cool kids are.*

*HG is not cool and therefore does not endorse piracy.

I am still amazed how iTunes and iPods are so popular, despite the Apple's steep tax and proprietary paranoidness.

I think it's because most consumers are ignorant. Us tech geeks know that the iPhone pales in comparison to the Droid and the Zune HD is better than the iPod Touch (except in terms of apps, but it'll get there).

Not to say that I don't have an iPod Touch - but that was before the Zune HD.

I haven't come across any appliance that works anywhere near as well as the Touch or the iPhone (haven't got my hands on a Droid yet), and the app store is simply fantastic.

That said iTunes is one of *the* most hateful programs around, the Touch aside (which is still expensive for what it is) the other iPods are heavily overpriced and not much better than other equipment.

I don't think they sell the Zune in Britain - I know they didn't when my brother got a first generation one, but that might of changed.

I have used a friend's iPhone, but android has almost everything it has. I hope Android picks up as more cell phone makers employ it and programmers outflank Apple's cult of developers.

Ach, I would have done, if I had known about it before now. Especially since I did shave my beard off mid-October and am currently growing it back. I'll do it next year.

I think I see you on the website there, Atzy.
