I have bfme2, can't afford rotwk yet. I'm not sure if I want to do modding, but here's some things I'd like to change:
Basic:
Dwarves: more hp for towers, more hp less crush attack for battlewagon.
Men: theoden more pierce armor.
Everyone: stronger buildings. I'm using 'wall mod', which gives 5x strength to all. I'd prefer if it gave that much to towers, walls, and fortress expansions, more like 3 or 4x to other buildings.
Mordor and goblins should get warg riders too.
Advanced: divide men and Mordor into 2 civs each. Edain (Gondor) and Men of the North (Rohan + Laketown etc.) Mordor and Men of Southeast.
Give half-trolls to Mordor and Wild Men with spears to Goblins.
Some new units: Woodman (for Men of North), fights with ax and builds simple siege weapons, good against buildings too.
Axeman (for Men of Southeast) good against basic soldiers, siege, and buildings.
Wains: large battlewagon, can carry battalion of troops (for Men of Southeast and/or North.
