Topic Subject: Differences between the 360 and Computer
posted 01-15-07 02:49 PM EDT (US)
First off...

I, Ethycs, hereby take the position to be the first non-mod to post a new topic in this forum.

Anyways, now own to the differences

--------
Create a hero

Computer version: You already start out with all the heroes, you can make your own.

360 version: You unlock the heroes and you can't make your own. Although I think you can unlock a hobbit hero
-------
-------
Skirmish

Computer: All six teams (7 including ROTWK) up to 8 players in one battle, can change your color

360: All six teams, only goes to 4 players a fight, can't change your color (so you're pretty much always blue, )
-------
Handling

This is pretty much straight forward, depends on what you're more used to.
------
Campaign

Virtually the same
------
------
Multiplayer

computer: Just like with skirmish only with humans, you type to talk.

360: Just like skirmish, only you can talk to other people with the headset.
------

Well that's about all for now, I know it looks like I'm badmouthing the 360 version, but it's true, my friend has the 360 version while I have the computer version, so I've played both versions.

If I missed anything, please do tell.

You don't get a hobbit hero in the xbox 360 lotr version it would be cool though

and I love the headsets on it you are able to talk tactics with your mate coordinating an effective attack speakig to each other makes it alot simpler and the controls are so quick and easy to learn i picked them up instantly

You could use teamspeak with the computer version, but that is a bit of a hastle from what I've been told.

Sadly there is no worldbuilder

I'd imagine the worldbuilder would be considerably harder to use on the 360.

Do they have Rise of the Witch King for 360? If they don't they should, and if they do, never mind.

The PC version is better than the 360 version except in terms of graphics for me.

Yes I know, the PC version can have better graphics, but my computer barely meets the requirements to play the game, so I'm always in very low detail. However, on the 360 I can play with better graphics.

Yeah, I'd say that, in my experience, the 360 has better graphics than the PC. Graphics were a big selling point for the 360.

Uhm, we at heavengames have our own teamspeak server (teamspeak.heavengames.com) so that's basically the same though.

We don't have RoTWK yet for Xbox360, though I expect EA will expand it out if it delivers well for the PC community.

Good point, there. Do you have to pay for those downloads?

Yep although it will have features that the pc version doesnt have. and you get it by buying microsoft point cards from the shop and typing the code off the card on your xbox 360, therefore giving yourself micro. points. or you can use a credit card

Any idea what those features will be? And will you have to own the original in order to play the expansion?
