Hiya, Whenever I log in as a different account, I have trouble posting.
For example, I often get a message saying:
Rate Throttle in effect You're trying to post too many replies within a short time. Please retry later.
But I haven't posted with these smurf accounts for weeks.
Is this deliberately planned to limit all secondary or inactive accounts or are all new users experiencing similar problems?

I know I'm not Zen, but
all new users experiencing similar problems?
when I registered this account a month ago, the rate throttle was very restrictive. I think it eases up as postcount goes by though.
EDIT: It just occurred to me that Zen does frequent the forums, so he should be able to tell you better than me.

Hi Rainbow Randolph,
The rate limiter is more restrictive for users with low-post counts - the restrictions ease off as you accumulate more posts. This was implemented to deal with troublemakers' "sleeper" accounts and also people who had flooded our forums with various spam and graphically-disturbing images.

I really like how Zen is an elf on this forum. I've always thought of him as such.
I'll stop dragging this OT now

Even as staff?

Alrighty, but HG is obviously not getting many new users. Wouldn't limits on posting, OD, and MEC, be a big factor for that? I think moderators would be better off dealing with certain individuals spamming within an hour or so then having to punish all inactive users.
Sorry if I'm stepping out of place, just curious.
And then about EoJ, I always thought there were no posting limits for staff. When I was a seraph I never ran into that problem but I got the rate throttle message when I was about to get the last post in the OT thread here after resigning.

Yes, but how often did you post 40 messages in five minutes?

So, really, there's no problem for me. In fact, it reminds me that I have a life

I experienced this problem when I first started. I, personally, like the idea so we don't get too many newbies opening odd threads (sorry Wraith Lord).

Ah, now I see the banner they were talking about in the Bree Bash. It's very stylish. It looks like a skiing logo I've seen somewhere, presumably while I was skiing.
