Get ready for the most complete Minas Tirith experience ever made for the Battle for Middle Earth 2. What was once only a seven-level city has flourished into a masterpiece. What was once an empty field is now the Field of Pelennor, the site of the greatest battle of the Third Age of Middle Earth.

The board is set – the pieces are moving . . .

Lord Faramir, Captain of Gondor, awaits your command in the city of Osgiliath. Mordor has crossed the river Anduin in force and now threatens to overturn your vanguard and attack the great Tower of Guard, Minas Tirith. Gondor is laid bare before the wrath of the great Lord Sauron, the master of Mordor. Help Faramir hold Osgiliath while he can.

Rohan rides from the north, but their coming has been late; Theoden and his riders may not arrive in time to save the White City. You must hold the forces of darkness at bay until help arrives.

Sauron will attack with everything he’s got: orcs will pour out of Mordor like a flood across the land. From the south will come Haradrim and their fearsome Mumakil. If that is not enough to utterly destroy the world of men, there come even worse – a fleet of Corsairs sails from Umbar. Sauron will make sure that nothing stops him from destroying Gondor and all of the good peoples of Middle Earth.

Map Features:

1. The seven-level city is now decked out with new buildings, textures, and decorations.
2. The city of Osgiliath and the port of Harlond are included.
3. Brand-new textures are included throughout the map.
4. The Battle of the Pelennor Fields is more complete than ever. Start off in Osgiliath and watch the action unfold – this map has plenty of movies for every twist and turn in the battle – all of your favorite scenes from the movie will be included in new and exciting ways!
5. The best music from the game and movies is included at the appropriate points of the game.
6. All of your favorite heroes will be there to help you
7. Movies are used throughout the events to enhance the ultimate battle experience.

Based on the seven level city by klw, it has been edited by eliec who has transformed the original into a beautiful masterpiece of mapping and scripting.

lags quite a bit, also if you open the gate when Grond comes and then close it again, Grond will sit there until it dies.

good wins too easily, but why do orcs randomly spawn on each level of the city?

I like defense maps and this is not too original.

Its a very fun map wich makes you come back for more! But the scenes that comes back time to time is a little to long.

Great balance,a little to hard for the player otherwise its perfect.

The game seems to follow quite well with the actual story line. However, it felt incredibly boring at times, especially when fighting the Witch King as all I had to really do was just sit and watch my screen for 5 minutes questioning what the point of this was.

The arrival of the Rohirrim was more or less a distraction from the actual fighting I wanted to accomplish back at Minas Tirith. I wasn't 'pleased' to see the Riders because there was no 'wow' factor to it. The same would go for when the Dead arrived, there was no 'wow' or anything to push the game forward. It all felt to easy and numb.

Overall it is a very easy game to play, yet with the downside of 'if you want to be bored, then play this'. If you are younger and/or inexperienced, perhaps this would be more beneficial.

Balance: 3.5
In general, it ran smoothly - not much lag throughout. Unfortunately for me, Gandalf seemed to have become a vegetable within the battlefield and just stood there until he was surrounded and then ran off. Merry seemed lost, which is probably appropriate, but not so much that he does nothing to contribute.

I wasn't too keen on watching Eowyn fight the Witch King; she seemed way too strong for her own good (compared to a Nazgûl) and it was mind blindingly boring.

Minas Tirith has been done to death and this map creates nothing particularly new except for being able to stand by the White Tree... Because we have all been so desperate for something like that...

I liked the fact that Eliec included Osgiliath and the Port of Harlond, but nothing special really came out of them unfortunately.

In this custom map, I like to think of it as a bowl of spaghetti with a bit of cheese on top. Hand to make if you can't be bothered to make something special, but with the cost of it not being anything amazing. Minas Tirith feels constricted to the point you wonder 'how did they fit in there?'. The men seem to have difficulty even getting through the front gate without suddenly thinking 'lets stop and rest right at the entrance'. Well, that was my opinion.

There could have been so much more done with Osgiliath! There was about 2 minutes of gameplay with the last defense of Minas Tirith and it was just plain dire. Not enough action and not enough challenge.

Story/Instructions: 1.5
The story line tries to keep to the same as the movie, which is a little annoying in my opinion. If it had been done from the book instead, It could have been far more enjoyable and a LOT different to the same cliché designs of Minas Tirith.

The game is so easy to follow, it becomes a task to keep excited, entertained or even interested for that matter.

Additional Comments:
I understand and fully respect the scripting was superb. However, it isn't just scripting that makes a great game and alas, this map proves that. I've played maps with little scripting but beautiful battles and plenty of creativity that completely outmatched this.
