Hey there,
Today i present you The Crossroads, a new 2v2 map (the crossroads were the meeting point of the road minas tirith - minas morgul and harad- black gate)
This map is basically a remake of udun, having same dimensions and proportions, but still a different design, and no big middle hill. It sacrifices some artistic freedoom and aesthetics for gameplay, but hey, thats what people want. (no big trees around crossroads, and not a heavily forested map like it should be, but u can still see the king's head near signal fire :D)
A slightly different offset for starting location allows dwarf builder to go unseen on side too (on udun you could but sometimes the enemy would see you) and possibly build a hidden mine there. OP dwarf.
Heres some pics
As soon as I opened this map I loved it. Like Udûn but some extra flavor. I like the addition of trees, now I can finally have a my Mirkwoods camping by the Signal Fire. Their placement is good, they are perfectly in line with the visibility of the fortress, as it ideally should be to keep evil factions from being OP late game.
I think the little space for a dwarven mine is very neat too, even though I keep getting stomped by players who do good guardian rushes.
Other than that, the design isn't anything worth commenting on as it's just made for playability rather than aesthetics, but I feel like I need to bring up the red fog which probably will be annoying to a few players I can think of. Personally though, I think it makes the map even more lovely.
Overall this is a simple balanced map which will be a lot of fun to play 2v2s on, one that I from now on will prefer over Udûn.

Good and smoth gameplay but i feel Evil faction have
bigger advantage. Rush is strong here since avoid battles against slower armies like dwarf/men is too easy. Map size could be same as Udun but buildable terrain on middle with 4 obstacles give the sensation of being bigger! My dwarves feel sad here.
However, good alternative to udun.
Sadly you keep making non-very fertile designs (except for sea of nurnen)
