Hallo people,
I was offline for a long time, since I am very busy. However, I managed to update and change some things in my old three dwarven maps according to a new updates of Edain 4.xx. (Old maps are still online and you can use them as a reference to see what has been changed in the new ones)
There are visual changes also, because I tried to properly mix movie and book interpretations of these dwarven cities. Moria got some reconstructions, Erebor too (mostly outside) Gundabad got some minor changes in order to make it easier to play before the main gate.
Anyway, this is, as always, a visual advanture in realm of the dwarven stonemasonry.
Enjoy playing EDAIN 4.xx ;) |

...and btw. I saw few maps circulating on the internet, which are containing my designs and map solutions (like dwarven smelting furnaces, main gate designs, etc., but many mappers are not giving the credits.
Look, I am not a guy who wants to be asked every time about use of his designs. You are allowed to use anything you want, redesign the map, copy, whatever without asking me (I am very happy if see someone uses my solutions), but anyway, out of mutual mapper's respect, it would be nice to mention who did something first. |

One problem with the maingate. It's none! Maybe you have made one, but i cant play with it. It's just a huge rock in the place it should be a gate. Awesome designs though |

A good map with details, and alot of good stuff. But there is no main gate, so it's neither any possibilities to get out of the mountain or in it. could you think about making a main gate, and not a small little one , but as it's show'n in the movie; a huge one |

I'll just quote myself from other posts:
Quote 1: "I removed the gate because, the gate is destroyed (according to the book and movie). My initial idea was to make the rubble's destroyable too, but the problem about that concept is in smaller probability that other AI players would attack the rubbles except the human player. So I made at least a trigger for all players to be able to remove the rubbles besides of any other player's intentions."
This means, you need to be near the main gate in order to clean the entrance (of course, you'll see the counter how long you need to have units near the entrance). There is a secret entrance also.
In older versions of this map you can find basically all infos and explanations which you can apply here, too.
Quote 2: "I always say to all who will try out my maps: "the purposes of my maps are not just to have opportunity to have one smooth fight, but to imagine the depth of middle-earth (in this case the dwarven culture and the greatness of their halls) and to give all of you who want to make own maps more creative thinking and solutions"." |

Yeah i noticed that but in my point of view it would be better having erebor in their golden age with a gate and dale built up |

As I said many times before. Everyone is free to edit my maps, just mention me in credits and all other mappers who edited the map before you, too.
Change it and post it, you are welcomed to do so ;) |
