Ask any questions relating mods or the World Builder here. @darth unless you have a team together you should learn the basics of modding or join an already existing modding team

Can anyone tell me how I can create a new mod? I want to make a mod where there is an icon on my desktop for the modded and unmodded game like in Battles of Gondor. If I like the mod I will want to post it on a website so people could download it so I also want to know how I can do that.

Hey i am new to all this modding and new to the forum. I am trying to modify the create a hero part so that i can give give my hero max stats for skirmish games.i have seen it been done in videos but cannot find explanations of how to do it anywhere. i have tried using finalBIG but dont really understand it too well

Is it possible to create a new unit with map.ini and then place it in worldbuilder? And also, is it possible to create a new power and activate it using scripts?

Does anyone know how to enable the Siege Towers (Mordor) and Siege Ladders (Isengard) in a map? I know maps like Minas Tirith and Helm's Deep allow them but i can't figure out how to do it on a custom map. I tried modifying those maps and saving them as new ones but it didn't work.


Also, i'd like to bring back the Haradrim Spearmen (from BFME I) for Mordor. They're still in there, just not buildable. XD I'd like to add Grond in too if possible, hehe.

Oh, and Rohirrim Archers and Peasants would be cool too, but i think the archers' model or texture got replaced by the Men of Dale

I have a question about saving the map.
When I save it it in the good map( I know sure because downloaded maps work their...)It doesnt appear in the list ingame...
So in is in the correct folder in a map with the same name as my worldbuilder map.
What to do so it appears ingame???

EDIT: I already found it out I had waypoints but i had to name them (player_1_start something like that) so for all others dont forgett it is important that is a possible reason why your map won't appear ingame.

Now I have another question I want to make a map but before I do that what is the best size for a 4 player map???

I recently downloaded the "Fotress of Harad v1.02" map. I'd really like to try it out, but every time I try to start the game (as soon as it begins), my workers fall over dead and it says "Defeated!" I'm not sure whats going on, but perhaps one of you knows how I can fix that in World Builder? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Their could be many things wrong does everyone start with a starting building? Does your enemies have a start building? etc.

I have BFME 2, not ROTWK, and I would like to do a couple of things:

1. I want to increase the Area of Effect of the leap power of dwarven CAH. Which file do I need and which line(s) of text do I need to change?
2. I want to add a weapon to dwarven heroes, a sword to be exactly. Anyone knows how to do this, If it's not to hard?
3. I want to change the description of some powers of heroes. Is there a way to change them, and see what they actually do? For example; the Battle Rage of dwarves. I want to look what the percentages are of the increasements. And then I want to change the description to fit the percentages? Anyone knows how?

Hi,Im new to this part of HeavenGames and new to BFME II and I would like to know how I get my map into the maplist,I've tried everything in the FAQ and it still wont work,so do I need a script,triggers or anything else?

I have a question. WHen I try to build castle maps, I add the walls in world builder, but when I play the map in game the enemy and my units can walk through the walls. Does anyone know how to properly make a castle map?

It depends. Usually walls are properly solid, but maybe the ones you're trying to place are bugged.

Try using different walls, most of them have proper physics, even allowing units to walk on the catwalks.

hey friends.
i've got some bombardment of question,
as you can see in my signature, we are already working on a mod and maps, as well as new units for tolkein's son's new book.

here are my questions, i hope this is the right place to post them. thank you. i've already posted them outside that thread by accident, but cannot seem to delete it.

1) is there a way to import bfme1 units into bfme2?
we really liked the elves that switch weapons.
2) if we put ents as player, denied them of building anything BUT ents on the entmoors (at fanghorn), and want to:
make them friends of player 1, 2 (m.tirith & h.deep)
make these players able to recruit units from player fanghorn's building.
is it possible?
3)AI tutorials, or: how do we make the PC run through 10 routs of attack, where mordor is at top left, osgiliath at the middle, minas tirith top right. we need to make:
a) inner & outer perimiters and make sure the PC acts like he supposed to. some tutorials we've read didnt seem to solve it or missed something.
b) make the "combat zone" basically the whole map BESIDE inside castles zones and make sure he actually captures osgiliath and other forts
c) is it possible to make a trigger area around helm's deep, run a script to check if player X has no units there and if he hasn't, try to actually use the inner & outer perimiter like he just took over the place, raise defences, put guards on walls etc?
4) we need to make the PC actually enable the building of siege towers and siege ladders at both isengard and mordor - how do we do that, AND make it follow waypoints?
( the idea is having a few siege buildings making siege weapons, following some waypoints and have about 10-20 different places to attach it to, so player will not know the same spots everytime)
PLEASE DIRECT US TO AN ENHANCED WAYPOINT TUTORIAL, SINCE WHAT WE READ DOES NOT WORK.
5) units - which is better, for anti lag reasons:
changing the number of units in a horde, or raising the CP?
the goal is a lot of armies, but we do not wish it to lag the game - the last attampt was horrible.
6) improving instructions for enemy units:
we have a player called rhun. it's base is just mumakil tents, which produce...candies. denied by fortress.
we thought of the following workflow: after it produces mumakils, and is instructed to send them at the groups of 10 to the battlefield, how do you make the mumakil use the "charge" over enemies, when it encounter them, nometter which type of units they are?
a familiar scenario: rohan arrives, rohan is scattered, rohan is charging. mumakil meets rohan. mumakil need to charge to destroy them. mumakil do not know how to charge when encountered enemy. they only attacks the usual way, even on brutal.

this mod, and campaign suppose to re-create the wars and the feeling of it for the players. the maps will mainly be built for single player campaign, and afterwards be available for skirmish at all types.

so...i know it's a lot of complicated questions, can you help us out? my friends are eager to prove they worth a place of honor with this mod.

2) i've made a map once, reinstalled my pc, reinstalled bfme2, put it where it should be, cant see it in game.
