I'm no art student, but they're really pretty and I can't see anything wrong with them. Special regards to the sky on the second picture, as well as the general colouring, which is awesome, and the hands on the first picture, which are supposed to be murder to draw.

I take it the difference is that a squishy christian takes the Bible as a metaphor and takes in the moral stuff, while a solid christian claims to interpret a 2000 year old text to be as literal as a modern day textbook (and more truthful than one) while at the same time ignoring the large majority of what the Bible says?

July 20 is the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Anyone been following it at www.wechoosethemoon.org or is that just me?

There are two quotes that keep ringing in my head constantly these days, though.

"We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things not because they are easy, but because they are hard!" ~ JFK.

If we were to apply this now, perhaps we would be on the Moon before 2020. Maybe we could indeed be to Mars within eight years. But NASA is underfunded and has chosen to go with the solid-state Ares rocket design instead of the EELV designs, despite the EELV designs being better and faster to build. There are so many mistakes and so much political gaming happening here that I fear for the future of American space exploration unless Obama does something to set NASA back on the right track (and please, stop the cost-plus contracting with Lockheed Martin, NASA).

It was still a huge accomplishment of thousands of people working together and applying science. It's scary to think that a piece of foil could be the difference between success and death. I bet the Lunar Conspiracy Theorists are in a paranoid state of denial, especially with these pictures released.

By solid Christian I meant that I have a pretty secure faith in the teachings of Christianity. I didn't mean that I'm close-minded and declare anything that's not in the Bible as blasphemy. But then, you knew that.
