Oh Atzy, don't be like that. It's not like "Oh, I know who this guy is so I'm better than you." The point I'm stressing is that a proper understanding of the past is crucial to a proper understanding of the present, and I'm frustrated when students seem to have little to no interest in being informed about the past or the present.
I can understand that attitude.

However, (and I know this is kind of a lazy excuse) a lot of the responsibility for student interest is on the teacher and the atmosphere of the class, rather then the individuals personal disposition. I was really looking forward to my first college level history class because I thought, finally, a place to learn and share ideas and converse on all manner of dusty topics. Instead? I might as well have still be in home school with the level of interaction I got out of it.

Now I'm bitter and just hold intellectual conversations in my head.

They actually did quite alot.

It surprises even me.

But classes in which there are large amounts of student participation and group interaction involving the discussion and flow of ideas are the best ones, and the ones you get the most out of, because, at the very least, you get to understand and apply the ideas and concepts involved.

Yeah, I'm closer to Nashville though. About 40 minutes south.
Allow me to rephrase that. I meant the significance of of Otto von Bismarck, the unification of Germany, and Bismarck's web of diplomacy in relation to the new German Chancellor and the explosion of World War I across Europe.
*coughs*

@Kyr: History and English are the two subjects I easily excel in.
I might as well have still be in home school with the level of interaction I got out of it.
I take it you were homeschooled? Did you ever apply to a co-op/tutorial?

Wow, they are my two best subjects as well and the ones I want to carry through to uni!

Also irony! You said English was one of the ones you excel in, and then you spell subjects wrong

I hunt and peck rather than type, so when I H&P really fast it turns out bad.

I also enjoy science though and grasp math, I would like to become a defense contractor and develop weapons, or make advanced prototypes. As long as I'm developing something, I'll be happy.

Err.

Happy Birthday, Atzy!

Also, sort of off topic, but does anyone else associate Atzy with the Monster in the Dark from OotS? Or is that just me?

You mean Shojo? I can imagine Atzy being mental... but conniving? Nah.

Besides, just reading comic 662 confirms my belief that he's MitD.
