Sir Snoopy’s Guide to BFME2 or ROTWK
Hey guys, Sir Snoopy here. I just want to liven up the gameing community a little bit, and I do know the game kind of well, even though I suck really bad. I just can’t focus, because I love the LOTR music a little too much.
Anyways.
This is to get some of the lurkers out there to come out and start asking questions.
Ok.
BFME2 is an extremely rush heavy game. Mainly, a battle is decided within the first 2 minutes, because whoever wins that first little battle, is the first off on the offensive, and will do very well against a defensive opponent. It took me a very long time to figure what a rush actually is, but I figured it out, eventually. When you start the game, the first thought shouldn’t be “I need Eco buildings”, it should be “I need Units now”. Typically, regardless of civ, I start with a RB (resource building) and a PB (production building). Each civ typically has it’s own unique starting BO (build order). I’ll list them.
Basic Strats
Mine, Range, AT, Mine
I sometimes like to build forward, because I never like the fight in my main town, but that’s an opinionated thing. One should note, that once you have about 3 or four typical warrior batailions fighting, some of them aren’t. That’s when it’s time to start with some archers. Get two or three, and just have them fight behind your main army.
Stances and Formations
Stances are
F= Attack
B= Standard (don’t use this)
G= Defend
Archers should always be in attack mode. It gives them 25% extra damage, but 10 (I think) % less hitpoints. The only time they should be in defense stance, is when they are being attacked by melee units, in which case they should be running away at a huge pace, with reinforcements on the way.
Warriors and Pikes should be in Attack stance if they have a block, and battle (only case EVER :angry
Block formaton gives a huge bonous to armor, but a nerf to speed. So only use it when fighting, with attack stance.
Heroes should be in attack stance if they can’t kill units in one hit, battle if they can, and defence if they aren’t moving, under attack, or just need to live for a few more seconds until you can get a power for healing, ect.
Monsters: Defensive unless moving, or if they can’t do important damage.
Flying units: Attack unless under attack.
Powers
Powers really turn a tide, rally call/warchant is a great boost, and can win you that crucial first battle. All sorts of them, boosts, debuffs, land bonuses, summons. All very good. Use them whenever they will turn the tide in something. When an enemy uses a land change, use yours right after. He gets no bonus, and you do!
Requested info
When the loading screen pops up right before the game, when there is the rotating circle press B. It will select a builder. This will give you a few extra seconds which really helps in a rush situation. (Catabre)
