Hey! I never found out how to play custom maps, but now, when I know where I need to put the files, it doesn't work.

What do I need to do to make it work? Oh and please, don't reply if you are going to say "make sure the file is in right folder", because they are.

I am using Windows Vista.

Moved

Hm- does anyone know if Vista is the sticking point? That's usually the case in many games. I'm sure there's something we can do, but hang on

That's a great map.

My friend has Windows Vista and BFME2, but I'm not sure if he's using any custom maps. What happens when you load the game? Does it come up with an error message? Or can you play the game, but the maps don't appear?

I would recommend making your own map in worldbuilder. Just put some random stuff on it, then save it. If that appears in the game, then you know it's not the prospect of custom maps that your computer is flinching at, it's likely something to do with the placement. (sorry.)

If you can bear to wait a little longer, I can ask my friend whether he has the same problem. Try out my suggestions until then.

Hope this helps.

Well in vista its a bit different than xp because you have to save it in the roaming app(i think that's what it is called) instead of application data

Well, there you have it.

TBG knows more about Vista than I do, so try out his suggestion first.

Yea! It does work! You can now lock this or delete this, but I suggest you to write somewhere the answer:

In the folder, My battle for middle earth II files, there must be folder called "Maps", and there should be put the files. I did not have that "Maps" folder, but I was lucky that Enemy of Jupitor asked me to do so.
